What is a CAV and how do I get one?

A CAV is a Compliance Assessment Verification.  It is issued once you successfully complete all of the requirements to become GAP compliant.

To get a CAV you must be inspected by a Zespri approved inspector and hold a valid CAV if working on any orchards that supply kiwifruit to Zespri.

If you are a new contractor you need to successfully complete three inspections, thereafter to maintain compliance you will need to renew your CAV annually.

1. Set Up a Registered Company

The first step in the process is to register a company.

3. Approval Process

Zespri will engage a third party to explore your company and its intentions.

5. Book an Inspection

Call or email us to book an inspection, hopefully you have already called us to help you with getting to this point!

6. Inspections

Tier 1: Documentation Review - checking you have systems in place to meet GAP requirements.

Tier 2: Systems & Surveillance Inspection - this is to insure you have implemented your systems and keeping all records required.
